I feel it takes the best of both worlds and mashes them in two.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003ehow would I describe the feel and texture?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThis is a big muff- but it definitely has a much different attitude and texture. I feel like it has more of a raspiness and buzz in the high frequencies while maintaining a pretty massive and smooth, not so compressed and clipped low end. It feels like it has less saturation\/gain, but more volume than a standard muff. The tone control is straight magic. It has way more range and nuance than the standard muff tone control.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe boost side is a treble boost- it sort of cuts\/tightens low and and really brightens up the top end.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ewhat kind of player would like this stompbox?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ethe fuzz war was the poster child for psych rock and garage rock for a long while. notably used by ty segal, and charles moothart of fuzz. It definitely wants to be loud and aggressive. It is good for loud music as again- it has more volume than natural saturation so into an already hot amp, it actually pushes it into its own gain, allowing for your amps natural drive to come alive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eof course, its is a great doom\/sludge\/stoner pedal as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003efeatures\/mods\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBoost side- \u003c\/strong\u003ethe boost volume knob has been modified so that at minimum volume it does not completely kill signal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eToggle mod- \u003c\/strong\u003ein the original circuit, the boost side actually has volume drop, even when set to max. I added a toggle that engages a proper amplification stage to actually use the boost side as a real boost.
